Import pedal events

After editing a MIDI file recorded on a digital piano, aligning downbeats with measures and quantizing note timings and durations, I can import it into MuseScore without a problem, except sustain pedal events are discarded, and I have to enter them manually into the score. I request that MuseScore include pedal events when importing a MIDI file.
