Musescore keeps on crashing when I open it.
Even when I go to file explorer to open a score, all I get is the top portion of the screen.

What do you mean when you say "all I get is the top portion of the screen"? Do you mean it starts to display and then crashes? Can you try starting MuseScore from the command line, using -F (factory reset), -w (no webview), or "s" (no synthesizer)?
