How do I return to the primary instrument when I'm changing it midway?
I'm writing a piece that requires an e flat trumpet. Mid-way through the piece I wrote a key change and I changed the instrument to a d major trumpet. I made another key change to e flat and I want to change the instrument back to an e flat trumpet. How do I do this?

Perform the "instrument change" again, the same way you did it the first time.
Use instrument change once more.

This creates new instruments in the mixer, with different channel, pan, volume, as well as range/transposition attributes. I think I reported this. The need of the OP is a real one. I ran into this with my recently-posted Zelenka lamentations movement. The Bohemian Bach Buddy actually used the same staff for oboes and violins with "staff text" markings (see his hand manuscript on IMSLP) about adding and removing either; of course, he could do "colla parte" (2 channels on part), and we can't, either.
