Musescore not working

On Feb. 2, 2020, I installed an update for Musescore, but since I was working on a score at the time, I clicked on the "reboot later" button. When I was done for the day, I shut down and the next time I tried to open Musescore, I got a Microsoft window stating that "Musescore 3.exe has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." Since Windows 7 is no longer "supported", it is doubtful that this will happen. Can you help me? Even going back to the earlier version of Musescore is better than not having ANY program. By the way, I originally tried to send this from the computer upon which Musescore is loaded, and it would not send the message!!!

Consider downloading and installing the latest version from the website. Should you uninstall first? Maybe. Uninstall pretty much only deletes the UI. Scores and things like that are not deleted.
"Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." All the times I saw this when I used W7, they never contacted me, ever. Don't worry about that.
Next time, do the update when you are done, or before you start.
This indeed might be one of the few cases where uninstall and reinstall could help you.
If after reïnstall you're still having this issue then try to perform a reset to defaults using the command line options
I wish to thank both of the helpers that gave me the suggestion to uninstall/re-install. It worked like a charm and my previous work (much to my surprise) WAS saved.
