Video option
Hello!
Maybe this is an old feature request but I do believe it's worth mentioning again.
I gotta say that Musescore has become quite a professional music notation program by now. Is pretty easy and solid to use.
I believe there should be an option to add video with timecode along with some filmscoring tools as well (like marking the hitpoints). I think this would create a great motivation for making more music and sharing. Also for the people who do filmscore or are heading to this career or just experimenting with.
:)

How?
I'm not sure this is what the poster meant.
I think what was meant is:
How does one get a video file to play in a window, alongside and synchronised with MuseScore, to help in e.g. composing scores for movies, etc?

Pretty sure this is doable through use of JACK or other synchronization systems, I've seen various threads on this over the years. I recommend doing a search of the site.

I've tried this, but I couldn't get my head around JACK.
When I select JACK, the normal sound output is disabled, and I do not understand why this is...

That is the normal function of JACK - to synchronize with an external MIDI program. In this case, the usage might be different, but again, there are ways of setting it up, or at least were at one time. I recommend doing your own web search to make sure it applies to your situation, but here is something I found in a quick web search:

Many thanks for your reply.
I understand JACK is meant to enable MuseScore to synchronise an external application (such as XJadeo) with it...
What I don't understand is why it is then necessary that MuseScore ceases audio output whenever it uses JACK...
I am not very technical, and I tried various things, but I couldn't get it to work.
Oh well, maybe one day...
Again, many thanks.

Well, as I said, normally that's what you want, the receiving program would be expected to handle the output. But not in this case I guess. Not sure if trying other options (eg, unchecking JACK Audio or JACK MIDI) would do it. Or maybe also using an external DAW.

Hi!!!
I have the same problem. I can't sync a video with jack transport, xjadeo and musescore 3 in windows 10, even in xjadeo, I can't select the "jack option". Also, in musescore 3 when I choose the "Use jack Midi" or "Timebase Master" option the program crash.
Incorporate a native video viewer for filmscoring, would be a amazing option for this grate program.
