Musescore dosen't work properly after last update
Hi, I'm wondering if anyone else is experiencing problems with Musescore after updating to v.3.5.0.13199 or if anyone has any suggestions.
Everything was fine until this update.
Now when I start the program the window comes up and then the program shuts down again after a second or two. I can open the program by clicking on a musescore file, which opens the program and opens the file (as you will all know).
Once the program is opened if I go to 'File-Startcentre' the program will then crash again. so its obviously a problem with the Startcentre.
Another issue since the update is that the program continually freezes for long periods of time and I get the '(not responding)' message with the cursor just spinning. If I click on the program it goes to the dreaded opaque view. If the program is left for a long time ( and I mean a long time - about 20mins or so) it will come back again.
Everything else on the computer still runs fine while all this happening.
any suggestions anyone?
Thanks very much

Richard

I did see on the forum from last year that the 'autosave' can cause a problem so I've turned that off to see if it makes any difference to the program freezing up.
Thanks

Autosave probably isn't a problem for you. You need to turn off the start center in preferences when you start the program. That is what's causing the problem. We think the problem has been fixed for the next release. See #275837: MuseScore crashes during start-up while displaying "Start center"

Thanks, I've turned off the startcentre now and will see what happens.
Do you think this is causing the freezing problem as well or just the program start up issues?
Thanks for your help

If the program is freezing while you're working it's possible that the auto save is the culprit. I work with large scores and auto save takes too long on my old computer so I have it turned off. This means I'm responsible for saving my scores which I usually do every time I start a new system. I may lose more than 2 minutes of work from a crash or power outage but it doesn't stop me from working in the middle of something either.

Okay, thanks, I'll see how it goes.
