Ties

When you're song-writing, you sometimes encounter "syllable mismatch", when (for example) a beat that covers one syllable of a lyric in verse 1 covers two in the corresponding place in verse 2. One way of indicating this is to use a dotted tie between (say) two consecutive quavers, which in this case would be sung as a crotchet in verse 1 and two quavers in verse 2. Sibelius supports this feature, but so far as I can see MuseScore does not.
