Add a search to the soundfont (sound) menu...
...or at least improve it so I don't spend 10 minutes setting everything to the correct soundfonts. It's such a pain using large external libraries (especially when writing for large ensembles) to set each and every instrument to what you want. Also, whenever you import external soundfonts, it resets all instruments' sounds, so even if I want them to be stock, I have to scroll through the endless library of sounds just to find one. There should definitely be an easier way to search through all of the sounds.

The sound list is a standard dropdown, so the standard dropdown search technique works - just type the first few letters of the sound you want to go directly there.
The mixer is being redesigned for MuseScore 4, and no doubt it will include alternate organization schemes, since this is a reasonably common request.
BTW, adding a new sound shouldn't affect any existing sounds, unless you add the new one to the top rather than bottom of the list.
