Play keyboard along with Backing Track playing in Musescore 3

I want to play my midi keyboard at the same time as backing track playing in Musescore. This does not seam to be possible. I have tried playing the keyboard through Ableton Live 10 Lite using Voicemeeter Bananna asio driver, but either Musescore or Ableton sound is very distorted.
Would connecting Musescore playback output to Ableton by Jack overcome this problem?
Would using a basic external sound card in addition to internal card work? I do not need microphone or analogue instrument input so I do not need an "Interface".

Any advice would be much appreciated.
