This is a very cool musical effect, but I don't think it can be accomplished via an articulation or playback setting. Unless someone can suggest another way to do it, your only chance might be to find a sound font with an appropriate sound and switch to that sound when flautando is desired.

If you can find a sfz/sf2 soundfont with pianissimo samples and use them at normal level (eg mf) you can get the flatuando sound.
note: it may require some technical knowledge and some editing.
