Mute voice buttons not working in mixer
Hi people, I am working on a small snippet of a song and need to be able to play each Voice on its own. I started with the barbershop template and then added the notes using a different Voice for each vocal part. However, I can't mute the parts in the mixer in any useful way — if I mute everything except Voice 4 I still hear Voice 3 etc, what gives?

You have 2 staves, with in each, 2 voices . In the 1st stave you have muted 1.2.3 voices (unuseful, cause there is only 1 and 2 but in the 2nd stave nothing is muted so, you hear 3 and 4, try to mute voice 3

Thank you Raymond, for making me feel really dumb! I hadn't realised the mute voices was on a per stave basis. You live and learn, I suppose. Seriously though, thank you for taking the time to respond.

Also note that you are not making best use of voices. Each staff can have up to 4 voices. You should always have voice 1 present in any staff and use extra voices as needed. In this case you should be using voices 1 and 2 in the lower staff and not voices 3 and 4. Yes, that really is voices 1 and 2 in the upper staff and voices 1 and 2 in the lower staff. As you are not using voice 1 in the lower staff you have whole measure rests showing - the empty voice 1.
See https://musescore.org/en/handbook/3/voices for a more detailed description of how to use voices in MuseScore.

This makes much more sense now I know that each staff has four voices to itself. It would probably help if I spent more time reading the manual. Thank you for your comment, it's much appreciated.
