Does uninstalling musehub also remove the downloaded musesound ?
Is it possible to uninstall musehub and to keep the downloaded musesound functional in musescore ?

No... I just did it, and sure enough the /srv directory was erased. Not bad intent from Musescore, as that /srv directory is marked by apt (the debian / ubuntu package manager) as a dependency; I should have made a backup before !
I have a bad feeling about that whole Musescore stuff, the "microsoft-like" approach they have; sure that program is a real dream comes true... but I'm back to lilypond.

I'm curious what is "microsoft-like" in this context. FWIW, MuseScore (the program) for Win/Lin/OSX OS's makes source available, which is nothing microsoft does. MuseHub/MuseSounds is closed-source. Just wondering.

And uninstalling the Hub does not remove Muse Sounds.

Starting a closed-source network server with root access on your computer. That's the microsoft way. See https://musescore.org/en/node/337906 for more details
One reply affirms that uninstalling MuseHub does not affect the use of Muse Sounds, and another response says it does. Is there any further clarification on whether you can remove MuseHub and still utilize Muse Sounds? (Ideally, I'd like to remove MuseHub, but if MS4 cannot run without it I'd prefer to not have to d/load all the sounds again).

All I can say is that I'm on Windows. The other person was on Linux.

Right... I'm the linux one, and as I said, the ubuntu installer saw the musesound files as dependant from musehub, and kindly automatically removed them when I uninstalled musehub. Next time, I should:
1 - Make a backup copy of the said sound files before uninstalling musehub, then restore at their original position
2 - OR read the linux / systemd documentation, and permanently disable the musehub service; just manually activate it when I need an update, then kill it again.
