Vertical offset arrow buttons

To change the positional offset of something in the score, sometimes I go to the properties panel, and use the little arrows in the number boxes to shift it. The horizontal offset works well, but the vertical offset is pretty weird, as pressing the up arrow actually causes the element to go down and vice-versa. While I understand why this happens, the behavior is pretty confusing and off-putting. Would it be possible/advisable to somehow reverse the actions of the arrows to prevent this sort of confusion in this instance?
