New note input mode - Hold note, THEN select duration
I would like to use this workflow:
- Hold a note on my MIDI keyboard to audition the pitch
- Press a key on the Num pad to enter a note value of held pitch

The current "Real-time Foot Pedal is close, but with the extra step of hitting Enter, and some other "glitchy-feeling" behaviors for someone used to the way I suggested above.

Finale! Though I haven't used it in years, this was the workflow for Finale's "Speedy Entry" mode.

Hmm, I don't recall that but I haven't used Finale in years either. Anyhow, feel free to open an issue on GitHub to request this - https://github.com/musescore/MuseScore/issues - and ideally provide some details as to how it works in Finale.

Will do, thanks! I'll have to figure out GitHub tonight... Hopefully it allows for YouTube links - I could make a quick video that shows it even more clearly and concisely than the one I linked in the original post.
