percussion note head won't change after editing in properties inspector and in drumset editor

in measure 45 of the attached file, the marimba and vibes parts have a crash that I want to notate with a cross notehead. for playback, I used the change instrument text and set it to invisible because I will put this information in the score notes. I tried editing it in the inspector, but when that didn't work I tried editing it in the drumset editor as seen in the screenshot. I tried deleting and reinputting the note, closing and reopening musescore, etc
