My suggestion would be to not worry about that until you are done. MuseScore will change measure size as you work and may not honor what you might think. After you are done, put a system break every four measures.
Format --> Add/Remove System Breaks --> push OK. The default is 4 bars per system, but you can change it before pushing okay.
Also, I'd avoid using the shortcuts Alt+O, Y, Enter. The alt menu in Musescore 4 seems broken. When you push Y, things will malfunction. (I'm sticking with Musescore 3 until 4 gets out of beta -- if it ever does)

Interesting. I don't see any of those shortcuts in the list for MU4.
