Exported pdf file spacing is different from Musescore
When I export a part from a file from MuseScore 4.2 the pdf file spacing doesn't match MuseScore. The spacing is different forcing chords to be displaced. What have I done?

Are you sure you have exported to pdf or did you use print to pdf?
The page size settings in the MuseScore file are different compared the pdf which has been created.
See the result when I export the part to pdf.

I used the export function on the File menu.
No idea. But when I delete the system brake after the chord train wreck and the keep measures together markings ( this last might not be needed), things seem to line up better.
I didn't export to be able to see what your PDF looked like.

I'm still getting used to system breaks etc., so that may be the issue.

You can sure use them to have more control over the systems and to prevent a re-layout will happen while exporting. Just select the measure where you want to add the break and press enter is the easiest way to add them (like in a text editor when you want to move to the next line).

It didn't work for me. I am aware of this method and have used it in past scores.
The PDF you posted is not of the score - it's of the voice part only. It looks like you hadn't yet generated the parts yet or added formatting to them. You need to do that before trying to export them individually.

You are correct. I only wanted the vocal and chord accompaniment. Thanks.
What is it that I need to do before? Generate parts? Forgive me, I don't know what you mean by generating parts. When I selected export from the File menu it gave me the option of full score or parts. Thanks again.

See the Parts button front and center on the main toolbar to create the parts. Then you’ll have individual tabs for each part and you can do all the formatting you like.
