Weird spacing problems on screen with Renaissance-like notation
I think I encountered a serious bug. For my counterpoint seminar I use mensural barlines and overlapping note values. For sharing with the seminar I also fixated the system breaks. This may be important, because the bug appears only in these files.
Opening the file everything looks fine, but with any editing (accidentals, changing notes/layout etc.) the notes in one bar move together and away from the barline - up to a point where you cannot read the notes anymore (see screenshots). Luckily this does not affect the saved files, but I have to close and open again all the time. This happened in Musescore 4.1 and still after the latest update.
I share the screenshots because I cannot upload the Musescore files at the moment. I try to share them later.

Your MuseScore file opens correctly for me in MuS 4.2.1.
I can create a displacement of barlines similar to your faulty layout as follows:
1. Select all the barlines with right-click > Select > Similar
2. In the Properties panel,
either change Appearance > Leading space to a negative value
or change Appearance > Offset (horizontal) to a negative value
Is there any chance that this happened to your score at some point?

I don't think so, it certainly has to do with the early music notation with overlapping note values. I tried deleting the fixed layout, but the error keeps appearing. The error occurs on different devices in different OS. Maybe a developer could look into this.

Or it has to do with the Mensurstrich, because there you have to manipulate the barline lengths.
