Yesterday, I accepted the update for Musescore 4.3 and today all my saved work is gone.
I have been using Musescore for about 7 months now and I have been for the most part really pleased with the program. However, yesterday morning before I began to work on a score that I have been working on for about a month, I accepted the update for Musescore 4.3. I saved my work about 3 times yesterday as I was working on it and had to stop for meetings in between. The last time I saved it was about 5: 30 yesterday, saved to my computer. And since I'm not an idiot, yes I am sure I saved it.
Today I opened the file and the only thing there is the version I originally started with 2 weeks ago. It was saved as the name of the song _Piano score but when I opened it, nothing of the changes I have been working on for the past 2 weeks is there. Not even a saved iteration of the almost complete version from yesterday is there. I've searched my hardrive, recovery folders, but nothing. I didn't get the chance to save as a PDF, so I have to start all over. I've had my tech friends try to help but it is the program itself.
If you have any suggestions, I'm open, but I'm so disappointed by this that I hardly want to use this program again.

Can't suggest how to get your work back but next time, Save As... frequently, using differing filenames.
By "recovery folders" do you mean the hidden back-up folder in your main Scores folder. If not, check the instructions for your OS on how to view hidden folders.
You are sure you saved it, or your sure you hit the save button?
For my peace of mind, I always use "save as" with a new version number. That way I know exactly where the file was saved. And that it was saved. Yes, I have a lot of versions. But I can always go back to an earlier version, if need be. And delete earlier ones when I m done.
I'm confused. If you open a file you were working on and see progress from two weeks ago, then it's a different file.
Musescore simply does not have such a feature to save previous versions.
Did you find the file? I just wanted to say that the same thing happened to me today! Except that I hadn't updated my musescore but after closing the programme, 3/4 of the piece was no longer on the score where I had written it down for hours and days..! I also had clicked on "save" so many times that I could just not believe, it was all gone.. and this was really the case, it was just hiding deep down in my computer! Unfortunately I'm not a professional, so I asked here in the forum and got all kinds of help. I don't even know which of them was successful (I tried them all) but suddenly my score was back! I hope your score returns soon, I feel with you..!
