notes and TAB
- My notes somehow got dropped down and octave. The TAB fingerings were correct however.
- When I move the notes up to correct the TAB numbers move up as well.
- I need to move the notes up and octave and leave the TAB where it's at.
- How? I'm stumped.

The problem starts on measure four where the key changes. I can't get the sharps where they're supposed to be and I'm wondering if that's part of the problem. It's the third section of The Entertainer. I can't get the TAB to disconnect from the notation. I have no idea how the notation got dropped an octave while the TAB stayed correct.

For some reason, you got your pencils mixed up with a clefs inconsistency. The first Treble G 8va is correct, but two measures later you've added another clef, Treble G (common), which causes an octave problem - image below.
Remove this second clef and put back the key signature at the beginning of the piece, and all's well.
You need also to change the pitch of the 6th string (ie D2 instead E2). It's done in the "repaired" file: 1 sample.mscz

I can't do that because this is a key change from C to D. The key signature and clef need to be there. The E string also had been dropped to D so that got bumped somehow as well. So
1. The key change has to stay.
2. I can change the E to a D if that is required. I'll have to check to see if I can figure out why everything changed here at the key change.
3. How do I disconnect the TAB from the notation? At least long enough to get the notes back into the proper range.

Never mind. I got to looking at it, went back to the original piano score and LO! There is no key change there. I have no idea where that came from. But you were right and the problem is corrected. Thanks for your patience and help. It's all good now.

Even if the key change does need to be there, it's the clef that's the problem, not the key signature. Note the 8 at the bottom of the first and see that it is missing in the second.
