toggling the metronome during playback

• Jul 2, 2024 - 19:45

I like to use the metronome as a simple percussion element in compositions. I guess I could create a complete drum track and write in the simple percussion as I want, but wonder if there may be a way to toggle the metronome automatically on and off during playback,

You can simply click the metronome button while your piece is playing and the metronome will toggle on and off. Alternatively, you can assign a shortcut to the metronome (I used Alt+M, by default, it is otherwise unused; use a different shortcut if you have assigned Alt+M to something else.)

However, if you mean for the score to turn the metronome on and off, no. You would have to create a percussion score and enter the metronome as percussion notes.

Thanks. I’ll try creating a percussion instrument addition to my score, but at first try the sound of the metronome instrument shaker, was not available. I’m comfortable composing drum and other percussion score parts, but I have found some sounds unavailable. For drums, tim shots, brushes, and cymbal mallets for instance. Clave and cow bell sounds seem to be a bit unfavorable as well.
All in all the progress of muse score is superb and very well received.
My inquiry has work around solutions, but I offer discussion for consideration.
Thanks again.
