Supporting adding notation (like fingering) to tabs
Currently, you can add fingering to standard notation. However, for pieces for instruments that commonly use tabs, it's often convenient to create a linked staff to display tabs, and then print out only tabs. Yet when you do this, you lose all the attached hints in the standard notation like fingering.
You can get around this by using combined staffs for standard notation and tabs, but this usually doubles the number of pages being displayed.
To fix this, it would be very convenient if you could simply render only tabs, but support adding fingering notation to the tabs themselves.
Comments
You can display fingering in tab if you like - you just need to enable it in staff/part properties, advanced style properties.
In MS3.6 and 3.7 Evolution there's Staff Properties > Advance Staff properties > Note Values > Show fingering in tablature. Oddly, it doesn't seem to work, even though I was careful when entering fingerings to select Guitar LH fingerings.
Hopefully there's a functioning equivalent in MS4.
If we have this functionality in MS4:
a) I hope there's now the option to show fingerings in Roman numerals on the TAB staff. Addition Arabic numerals can be distracting and disorienting.
b) one should choose to show the fingering above the staff to the left of stem lines
c) the treble clef fingering and linked staff fingering could have unique font face and font styles

Ah yes, I see. Thanks.
However, it's a little hard to read though because the fontsize for the fingering numbers is almost the exact same size as the fretting numbers.
Is there anyway to adjust the fontsize and position of the fingering numbers in tabs? Ideally they should be maybe half the size and positioned to the top-left or bottom right.

Unfortunately the font face and font styles are synced between the treble and linked staff. So in MS4 if you change the face or style in one staff it affects both.

That's ok. I'll just switch it to French tabs so the fretting symbols will use letters instead. Thanks for your help.

I tried Show fingering in tablature in MS4, and got mixed results.
Sometimes the fingerings don't display.
I think the fingerings must be entered after turning on Show fingering in tablature.
