import a better sounding violin

• Sep 2, 2024 - 22:35

HI - I just downloaded 4.4.0.2 and already heard better sound and some help with glitches.
Here's my question- I arrange chamber music for violin/piano duo
The concert violinist I write for - hates to listen to the regular violin on MS.
I'm hoping there is a better one in some pack I can plug-in or buy.
(I have the BBC orchestra on my Abelton software).
I just don't know how to upload the new goodies in MS
I want to send him the MS
He has perfect pitch and photographic memory, so MS drives him nuts.
(I think its the artificial reverb, pitch, vibrato thing)
Any suggestions?

If you have VST3 installed (and BBC orchestra installs VST3, as far as I know) you can use it with MuseScore 4.
See:
https://musescore.org/en/handbook/4/working-vst-and-vsti
and
https://musescore.org/en/handbook/4/mixer#sound

However, I'm not sure about the current MuseScore 4 limitations related to mapping your score to available techniques from VST3. I suppose, you can use keyswitches (and hide notes in score).

I'm composing only for piano, but I'm sure that more knowledgeable people here can say more than me ...
