Locked out of Musescore 4.4

Since downloading the update to Musescore4.4, when attempting to open the program, I am immediately taken to a music file selection screen. This screen is unresponsive to all commands. I even have to resort to the windows file manager just to close it. Despite uninstalling and the re-installing Musecore 4 from scratch, this problem persists. I am effectively locked out.
