Execution Order/Signal Flow of Audio FX in Musescore 4.4.4 is wrong?

I am encountering a behaviour of the Audio FX chain, which is not like what is stated in the manual:
"Audio is processed through the Audio FX from top to bottom."
If I use two consecutive Audio FX and change the output volume of the bottom one, than the input of the top one is affected.
This leads me to the conclusion, that the signal flow goes through the bottom one first and then through the top one. Which is really confusing.
Is this a bug, or is this intended behaviour?
