Print bass TAB notation

• Jan 28, 2025 - 09:04

Hi dear Musescore and users,

I write my music as per attachment, where for gigs I'd like to print the TAB line with titles, lyrics and chords only, so basically only skipping the top Bass Clef.

Could you please help me out how to do this?

Thanks in advance. Please mail to pambossink@gmail.com

Best regards, Paul

I'm assuming that this score is a PDF created from a MuseScore score. (If not, you'll have to enter it into MuseScore before you can do anything with it.

With the score, open the Instruments tab (near upper left). Expand the Bass instrument (click the little arrow to the left). Inside it will be two staves: likely the tab will be a "Linked staff" (but not necessarily).

Left of each staff is an "open eye" icon. Click the "open eye" next to the standard notation staff and it will "close". And the standard notation will no longer appear in the score ... nor will it print.

To retain the text and chords (which are entered on the top bass clef):

In the Instruments panel, use the cogwheel to change the Staff type of the top Bass clef to TAB. Keep this TAB staff (with text and chords) visible and hide the other one.
