Add editable parameters inside the score: Editable Time Signatures and Instrument names
Now that CTRL/CMD + D has been added it's very intuitive to click on a dynamic mark and type with your keyboard what you want. However to new users this might indicate this "click and type" behavior is the norm overall in MuseSocre Studio.
If you can type "FF" when clicking on a dynamic mark, why can't you click on a time signature and type "6/8" and have the time sign change accordingly?
It seems that all text inside the score is up to this same behavior as dynamics. Instruments could be renamed this way, click on the instrument name on the score and edit it since it's just text. An additional menu for new users would be if you right click an instrument name a "change instrument" option shows up that simply brings up the add or remove instruments panel.
The attached image is a simple muck up of how it would look if a user clicked on an instrument name, and thus edit the inst. name directly on the score.
(Yes I drew the mouse with MS paint hehe)
Additional text that could react this way is score tempo. This would require special abbreviations like "1/4" as an alias to a quarter note. This way you could start composing and if you want a new tempo just hit CTRL/CMD + T and type "1/4 = 80" and it would detect it as a tempo change. this is way quicker and intuitive for some workflows rather than dragging tempo marks from the palates. Other tempo related markings would be swing and straight, accel. , rit. and metric modulations. For example you could add text on the last beat of a measure and type something like "1/4 = 1/8T" to automatically do a quarter note equals an eight triplet metric modulation.
Again, this is just because it just struck me that new users who get used to the way new dynamics are editable via keyboard text it will become expected tat all sorts of "text" could be edited like tempo and time signatures. Anyways, great work on the new update and thanks for a killer app!
