Three Fixes/Changes For The Next MuseScore Update
I’ve just gone over version 4.5.1 and it’s truly impressive – congrats to all involved!
I’ve been waiting for three specific changes/fixes for some time now and I’m hopeful (but really not expecting) MuseScore management will be reading this (I know the actual developers never come here):
(1) The 6/9 chord problem causes me grief because my leadsheets depend on me increasing the sizes of chord symbols:
https://github.com/musescore/MuseScore/issues/20101
(2) Chord symbols using “sus” and “add” look like hell and I’ve been told it will be fixed:
https://github.com/musescore/MuseScore/issues/25335
(3) And finally, the lack of a metronome count-in – which existed up until version 4.0 – means I’m constantly using version 3.6.2 when I would like to switch everything over version 4.x (and don’t tell me to add an empty measure at the start; we’re talking about hundreds of files here):
https://github.com/musescore/MuseScore/issues/9183
Although some have problems with various updates, overall, I find the engraving improvements, as well as the basic functionality, keeps getting better with each new version of MuseScore. I’m a former Finale users who’s happy to be here.
Good luck!
