Working in parts, how do I flip the flag up because it's a part on the top...
How can I keep the program from sending the note stems down. I want them all on the top part going up. Thanks!

And how do I get the different parts to line up better vertically?! Thanks again!
You can select the all (Ctrl+A), go to the Properties, Notation "Note", Stem, and choose your direction. Default is "Auto".
You can also have a voice 2 in the staff, then all voice 1 notes have stem up and voice 2 has stem down.
Edit: for a single not press X. X changes the stem direction.
