Editing Staff/System Text Positions

Having issues when editing the position of Staff/System text when dragging and dropping with a mouse. I never saw this issue before and it is very frustrating.

Lets say I enter some Staff text. It will place it in a default position, and I will enter some text. Now I would like to MOVE the location of the text relative to the staff. When I click/move it, leaders appear connecting the staff to the actual text to show that it is linked . . . all good. BUT . . . if I drag the text just a little to far toward a previous staff, the leader will suddenly snap to that staff and STAY STUBBORNLY LINKED as I try to drag it back. As I attempt to drag it back, the leader will NOT give up its hold on the new staff, then it will suddenly snap to a completely different staff, usually past my target staff and even sometimes at the END of the page. No matter what I do, I cannot get the text to re-attach itself back to the original staff as it was (CTRL-Z works but that is not the point). Sometimes it becomes so defuddled that I will resort to deleting the text and starting over by inserting staff text again . . . and try to be very careful about moving it (and minding CTRL-Z).

It did not do this previously. Is there a setting to stop this behavior or is this a graphics bug?
