The MuseScore handbook experience is not a pleasant one.
Googling usually brings up links to MuseScore 3 handbook instead of MuseScore 4. (Already here that's a big warning sign, why are people apparently still using an old version of the program? Must mean there is some advantage over the later version. It should be the other way around.)
Anyway, you get for example this page: https://musescore.org/en/handbook/3/keyboard-shortcuts There is a link that says "For MuseScore 4 users, see Keyboard shortcuts." and you think that if you click that link, you will see the equvialent page for MuseScore 4? Nope, fuck you, you get to this search page https://musescore.org/en/search/site?f%5B0%5D=type%3Abook4&keys=Keyboar… where none of the top results are the equivalent page. Scroll down a bit, you find the actual page https://musescore.org/en/handbook/4/keyboard-shortcuts but now compare it with the equivalent page for MuseScore 3, it sucks. Why?
Then, if you're lucky, you find that there is an actually useful page: https://musescore.org/en/handbook/4/all-keyboard-shortcuts but that one didn't even show up in the search results from before. Why not?
Here's how you should be:
When googling the first result takes you directly to the relevant page for the latest version of the program and it's actually a helpful manual, without any need to go through older version manuals or sucky search links that don't even show the page you want.

Have you seen this one https://handbook.musescore.org/ ?
The handbook is moving. Try the version that is being migrated to https://handbook.musescore.org/ (see the link in the 2nd paragraph of main old handbook landing page).
As to where google takes you, that is often surprising.

So there's even a third handbook page, that's not at all confusing /s
although the text is almost the same as https://musescore.org/en/handbook/4/
So let's see.
Compare these pages:
https://musescore.org/en/handbook/4/all-keyboard-shortcuts
https://handbook.musescore.org/appendix/all-keyboard-shortcuts
The first one looks much better, and is more useful. Why is the newer one worse? Newer version is supposed to be BETTER not worse!

The handbook is a WIP and will be open for editing by interested users (you, it seems). More details here https://handbook.musescore.org/readme/using-gitbook
"Googling usually brings up links to MuseScore 3 handbook instead of MuseScore 4."
- complain to Goole, then
"Here's how you should be"
So, re-write the Handbook the way you feel that it should be.
You ask why some people are still using MS3.
Here are some of the reasons:
