Wow, I've never seen a warning like this

Title says it all.
I wonder why and how far back the corruption goes.

I also got this when I clicked on details.

This was very helpful, but I don't know why there was a difference between the part and the score. Aren't changes you make to the score automatically reflected in the parts.
Anyway. the problem areas were indicated by a boarder around the bars. I could see they had 3 quarter note rests. I just deleted the selection and a measure rest was automatically added.
To answer my own question, it seems changes in the score are not reflected in the parts. I closed the tenor and guitar parts and reopened the tenor, but it still did not reflect the changes in the score!

I think part of the problem was I renamed the file. I now have three versions: one with a new name (The Master), saved this morning; another slightly newer file (The Eyes of Master) and (The Goddess) which actually had the latest changes, I think, until I started tweaking the wrong file somehow this evening.
I guess the lesson here is to close a file before you rename it. On a Mac usually you can rename a file anytime and it is instantly reflected within the program and the Finder.

  1. This error means: Musescore admits that it screwed up and can't fix it without human help.
  2. Go to Parts, click the 3 dots next to tenor and click reset. Note that you will lose all the changes you made inside tenor parts.
  3. Developers and volunteers are struggling with these kinds of errors. To fix them, you need to know the sequence of steps that led to such an issue.

FWIW, I learned long ago not to depend on changes to parts or the score being completely reflected in the other. Even Sibelius had an occasional problem Personally, I don't worry about parts until the score is complete. I realize that is not for everyone. Of course changes should work between score and parts. Most of the time, they do. It makes me wonder if the corruption had anything to do with it not working. Or if it was caused by it.
