Multiple voices
It has been driving me nuts now- my friend asked me to do an orchestral arrangement for his piano score, only to have the software crash/nothing happens when i try to delete the 2nd or 3rd or 4th voices when I want only the first voice to remain.
Perhaps someone could help me with this?

Sorry to hear you are having problems. But in order to help, we need to know version of MuseScore, what OS, and we need to see the score you are having trouble with (the actual MSCZ file) and steps to reproduce the problem you are seeing.

Okay so I'm currently using the 1.3 version and am on the IOS. I will post screenshots of the issue asap (my friend save the document). Thanks for the heads up on my lack of information - sorry but this is the first time I've had to post in this particular forum.

You can attach your score here, someone can check it.
The following (all the pics attached) is an example of what I do to try to get rid of the 2nd/ 3rd/ 4th voices and after doing so everything just stays- the 2nd voices are still there

Try this: just click on the note (i.e., the notehead) you want to delete to select it, and then press Delete.
I'm not sure what the intention is behind right-clicking to select, but it's not necessary. If you want to delete a voice (i.e., the notes and/or rests that comprise that voice), just select each note and/or rest individually and Delete.
Using right-click for an extended selection can be useful in some circumstances, but I don't believe this is one of them.

T.T
I tried doing as you said (thanks for the advice, can't believe the reply came so quick) but then i ended up deleting the whole bassoon part.
Worse part was that after a while it crashed.
I went on the read the forum to see if anyone had faced such a problem, only to realise that a)I was the only one who seemed to have this problem and b) Everyone seemed to be using a 2.0+ version. I only downloaded a 1.3 version, and on the webpage of musescore the 1.3 version happens to be the only one available (O.o). Perhaps someone could teach me how to download the 2.0 version instead? I now feel as if the problem could be because I'm using an outdated version and as a result am facing a bug which has already been fixed.

I've just noticed something after after attempting to answer your question that I should have caught sooner. There are two bassoon parts in your score; in the upper one, I see two empty measures with stray rests in them instead of whole-measure rests. That is invariably an indication of corruption, and I believe it's the reason you experienced a crash.
I'm only making this point because I believe your problem relates to corruption in those two measures rather than any version 1.3 vs. version 2.0 issue. I can't say for sure what's going on because I am unfamiliar with orchestral score generally; my specific knowledge and experience with MuseScore are limited to piano music. However, it's definitely not true that everyone is using 2.0; it's only been released in Beta so far, and I don't see any reason that 1.3 wouldn't support what you're trying to do with no problem at all ... assuming, of course, that no corruption is present.
Perhaps someone else will have a clearer insight into what happened.

Perhaps you have already solved, but...
In the images you've attached (10:56:41) seems to me that the check mark on the "same system" is absent.
I attach a couple of images to clarify.
Have you tried this:
Hold down the Ctrl key and click with the mouse on the notes to be deleted?

I have no other ideas. You always have the option to attach here your score
