Adding articulations / sharps, flats during note entry.
Hello Musescore,
Firstly, congratulations on the great job you are doing. I work for the Irish Association of Youth Orchestras and regularly promote Musescore to our members.
However, I have a problem with the mode of note entry re accidentals and it's still a deal breaker for me so I'm still on Sibelius despite the fact that I would love to adopt Musescore.
I enter notes on a reconfigured computer keyboard using zxcasdw keys for abcdefg using the numeric keypad for note durations - like having two keypads. It's close to as quick as midi-keyboard entry with the advantage that articulations and text can be entered as I go without using the mouse.
However, applying accidentals to notes causes them to sound twice. If I want to type A B C#, I type A B C ↑ and thus hear A B C C#. As someone who proofs pitches by ear whilst looking at a score, this just does not work for me.
Is it possible to have a toggle such that typing # adds a sharp to the next note that is entered rather than the preceding or that hitting the up or down arrow makes the next note sharp or flat rather than the previous.
It would also be useful to be able to add articulations before the note is typed as in the way Sibelius does it although entering them after is something I could get used to easily enough.
And just in case anyone suggests, what I don't want is to use a midi keyboard.
Thanks for your time and for Musescore.
