I recently installed Musescore 2.0.1. on my windows 8.1 laptop. When I tried to open it, It was completely unresponsive. I would click on the application to open up the program and get absolutely nothing. So I switched to Musescore 2.0.0. but somehow I'm still getting the same result. I've tried running it as an administrator, rebooting, reverting back to factory settings, etc. Nothing works. What's going on??

Did you already run MuseScore 2.0 successfully on this computer or not?
If no,
- Can you try to follow https://musescore.org/en/node/35956#instructions-for-windows but instead of -F, use -s ?
- If it doesn't work, try again but replace -F by -w
I've tried every single available solution to fix the problem. Reverting the settings, rebooting, redownloading, etc. does nothing.
I downloaded Musescore 2.0.1 a few days ago and within the first 24 hours it started having this problem and nothing worked to fix it. So I switched to the previous version (2.0.0) in hope that I would work. But it's still doing the same thing. I don't know what else to do.
It's difficult to help if you don't answer the questions asked.

Musescore 2.0.1 ran successfully for the first 24 hours after downloading it on my computer. After that time period, it started malfunctioning. I tried following the link and used -F, -s, and -w several times but it didn't work. I tried rebooting and redownloading but that didn't work either.
@TheUnforgiven could you give the portable version of MuseScore a try: https://musescore.org/en/download/musescore-portable.exe
I'm in the process of downloading the portable version. What is the difference between the portable version and the regular version if I may ask?
I was able to run the portable version on my laptop after installing it. However, it took VERY long to load. This was also the case with the regular version of Musescore.
Good info. As far as I know, the only difference should be the installation procedure - or lack thereof. That is, you aren't suppsoed to need to install it all all, at least not in the traditional sense. You can "install" it to, say, a USB stick, then run it directly from there on any computer.
Interesting. It's doing well so far. It's not giving me any issues yet. But I will let you know as soon as possible if anything comes up. Thank you for everything.
