Horizontal and Vertical Offset arrows

• Jul 10, 2015 - 15:39

Hi again,

I was wondering how much trouble it would be to change the Horizontal and Vertical Offset arrows in the Inspector, to the actual desired direction. As they stand, they work in the opposite direction. Could they be made slightly larger? I know I'm asking for a pretty big change (potentially), but I use these controls a lot :) Thanks.

Hi Zack,

Thanks for chiming in. It would be great if a four directional arrow system could be implemented. As mentioned, it would save some real estate. I too have never adjusted to clicking the opposite action to move objects. For me, such coding needs to remain in background. The GUI needs to be logical.

As a technical writer, I can assure you we run into this scenario on a regular basis--the tendency for developers to design software for mainly expert audiences instead of a novice to intermediate audience. It may seem logical to the developer because he or she uses the GUI regularly. The term, "spin box" is reserved for technical audiences. For other audiences, we use the box title. For example, when writing about this feature, we would call it simply "Offset box."

Would this be an easy GUI modification? Many thanks.
