MIDI input without playing notes
I like use MIDI input when editing, but don't want to listen musescore's synthesizer when I press notes on my keyboard when note input mode (N) is off.
It's strange, but I can't find any way to do it. In the preferences I can only switch synthesizer sound when note input mode is on.
There are two ugly solutions: 1) set volume of sythesizer very low, but I need to restore it every time I want to play score from musescore -- waste a lot of time; 2) switch midi input off every time i leave the note input mode -- also waste a lot of time.

I don't understand. You *do* want to hear the synthesizer for playback and also while pressing keys on your keyboard while in note input mode but not while pressing keys on your keybaord while not in note input mdoe? Why is that? You prefer pressing keys in silence except while entering notes? Or you have your keyboard hooked up to speakers as well so you want to listen to that instead? If so, then why wouldn't you also want to hear that during note input?
Understanding the actual use case here would help us understand if this is a feature that would be valuable enough to add.
Shorter, I want hear the synthesizer ONLY when playback my score. Because my keyboard (or connected software/VST) produce sound itself.
My workflow is pretty simple: I make some improvisation on piano (digital piano with MIDI, connected with good piano VST) with trial and errors method. I don't want to hear ugly musescore's synthesizer here, because I already have great piano sound. After I done with a piece, I switch to musescore, go to note input mode (N) and notate it. I don't want to hear ugly musescore's synthesizer here also, all I need is translate MIDI messages to right notes in score. But when I've done with notating the piece, I want to playback it with musescore. And HERE I want to hear the synthesizer, it's ugly, but I need no more to check my score is ok.
So, now I have to set volume of the synthesizer to minimum when improvising and notate, and restore volume when I want to playback my score.

I still don't undersdtand why you'd prefer to hear MsueScore's synthesizer on playback, then. Wouldn't you rather hear your keyboard then too? I must be missing something still.
Also, are you aware you can load different soundfonts into MuseScore, incuding one called Salamander that is excellent for piano? See the Handbook under Soundfont.
Anyhow, if I understand correctly, turning off Edit / Preferences / Note Input / Play notes when editing shoud do what you are asking, I think.

How to do it? Anyway, no need to extra super sound for just checking my score is OK. And automatic playing is much more limited and awful than human playing, so why to use a bazooka to kill a fly.

No. That option does NOT turn synthesizer off when note input mode is disabled. Currently musescore provide no way to disable synthesizer for incoming MIDI messages with still allowing use MIDI for note input.

To get MuseScore to play your synthesizer, you need to be runnign JACK and set it up there. Which, if you're already running some sort of software synthesizer, is probably no big deal.
Anyhow, thanks for the suggestion. Still seems pretty specialized to me - most people would either want to use the synthesizer for eveyrthing or not, not pick and choose what to use it for. But I guess that's what options are for, so maybe someday this would be added.

Thanks. My opinion is that MIDI note input (incoming MIDI messages -> notes when editing) and MIDI playback (incoming MIDI messages -> synthesizer) are different things and it would be great if user can enable/disable it separately.
