different tuning same note (E-Bass)
Hi,
I don´t know much about soundfonts or the quality of sounds in msc ( amount of overtones etc. ),
but in a particular case, I got two low b´s and the electric bass sounds simply awful.
The b of the Bass feels so much higher and doesn´t fit to the rest ... It sounds terribly wrong.

Sounds OK to me in MuseScore 2.02.....
Which version of MuseScore are you using?
Which OS??
Are you using the default Soundfont?
What kind of sound system do you have?

I´m using 2.01
as an exerpt like in the example it really sounds ok ... -.- or at least much better than in the complete file ( where I copied it out from )
Windows 8.1
I´m using
HQ Orchestral Soundfont Collection v3.0.sf2
and
FluidR3Mono_GM.sf3
Sound system? Asus STX 2 7.1 ... Stereo Headphones Beyerdynamics DT 880

OK I think I may know what the problem is....
Am I right in thinking that HQ Orchestral Soundfont Collection is at the top of the list in your Synthesiser page?
MuseScore defaults to choosing sounds from the first soundfont in the list.
Consequently your electric bass sound is coming from HQ Orchestral....
I've checked that particular patch in Viena, and can confirm that it has a lot of inconsistencies throughout its range.
If you keep scrolling down in the mixer entry, you will eventually come to the Fluid3Mono electric bass, which IMO is much better, and probably more the sort of sound you are looking for - it is names simply "Fingered Bass". The HQ Orchestral patch is called something exotic, and I think was taken from an Acoustic bass guitar.

Playback sound depends upon the soundfont used. Try changing the instrument to simply "Electric Guitar" and then set the note ranges to the same as a bass. This will change the sound but the notes won't display as red (out of range for the instrument).

MM JZ.F_0_33 was the standard "bass" in my current works I see. Sounds really profound.
But, it´s true, other basses sound more precise in pitch.
Thanks for your advises.
