cadenza measure
Hi everybody, I am transcribing richly embellished arias from Italian operas and would like to make them comparable by having each rendition on a new staff in the same system. When it comes to having complex and long cadenzas it becomes impossible to deal with each of them in such a way that the notes are nicely spaced (see bar 69 in the attached file).
I used the nominal/actual value setting to have the right bar length, but it is impossible to have the notes spaced properly or to treat each staff independently. Can anybody do something? Is there a feasible solution?
Thank you
Massimo

What you are trying to do is unusual / special enough that MuseScore does not directly support it. I think you will probably have to "fake" it by having the two cadenza follow each other rather than occur simultaneously. Or, create them in a separate score, save them as graphcis, and import them that way.

Thank you for your suggestion. Let's say I have the two cadenzas follow each other, how can I make them look like they occur simultaneously, in the same system?

Use the Lines palette to draw a line to simulate the system barline?
Depending upon what appearance you want, I'd say faking it was the best way.
If, for instance, you want the notes in the bottom stave in Bar 69 more spaced out then put rests in between the notes and make the rests invisible.
Or, you could split the cadenzas over two bars - first one 15/8, second one 19/8 or whatever it takes. Make the barline invisible, spread the notes of the top stave over the two bars. Place the notes of the bottom stave cadenza all in the first bar. Then make the second bar of the bottom stave invisible. This leaves a gap, of course but you might find that more aesthetically pleasing.
