MuseScore 2.0.2 Play Panel not retrievable
Hi, I switched to a new computer with Win 7. I loaded Musescore 2.0.2. Using F11 (or View=>Play) I brought up the Play Panel. I pulled it down to the bottom of my screen but perhaps too far. I cannot bring it up to control. I see a faint outline of it at the bottom of my screen, which goes on - off as I toggle F11.
How do I get the panel back up higher so I can control tempo, etc?
thank you,
Rschiller

Firs,t note thas the play panel is *not* the usual way to control tempo. The real tempo is set by adding Tempo text to your score from the palette or via the short Alt+T. The play panbel is just for temporary overrides to that tempo.
Anyhow, your OS probably provides some keybaord shortcuts to move the window, and it is worth doing a web search to learn about those. But failing that, following the instructions for "Revert to factory settings" in the Handbook will return it to the default position.

Ok, thank you. I would have preferred finding the OS keyboard shortcut but couldn't. I used "Revert . . . " and it fixed.
Again thank you and best!

Hi, just in case you still want to know the OS keyboard shortcut....
Press:
alt+space
twice the down arrow
enter
Now you can move the window with the arrow keys to the position you want to have it. Once you reached the desired position, press enter the confirm it.
btw, there is also a shortcut key which you can use instead of the "twice the down arrow". When you perform the above you will see a letter with an underscore in the word to move the window. My system is dutch and for that the letter is r. As I assume you do not have a dutch OS, you will most likely have a different key....perhaps m.
ps, also helpfull if you have moved a window to a second monitor and the next time you work with MuseScore you only have the main monitor attached.

Hi, thank you for your comment but I could not get that to work for me. I see the little menu come up and twice down to move, but then the arrow keys do nothing. If the play menu is visible simply moving with the mouse works. If I had again pushed it too far down, it would not bring it back up.
A 2nd monitor is a good idea!

Did you remember to press Enter after the down arrow? Practice in a window that ypu can actually see to get the hang of it. You are trying to activate the "Move" menu item; it's possible your versions of Windows differ, or some other setting is different, so that it might be something other than exactly two down arrows then Enter. But it's almost certainly possible, and practicing on a window you can see should help.

I did press Enter after the down arrow, and "move" was highlighted. This worked to allow the arrow keys to move the Play Panel if I am able to put the cursor on the Play Panel. I then experimented by deliberately pulling the PLay Panel down too far again so that it is hidden under the Windows bar at the bottom of the screen. I could not then get the cursor over the Play Panel and control the little menu to highlight move for the Play Panel; the move was only highlighted for the main MuseScore Window. I had to use the "revert to factory settings" again to bring up the Play Panel.
Interestingly, I tried WindowsKey+Tab. This scrolls through all windows from an angle and is useful; but the Play Panel does not show up regardless of the position it is in.
I could not find it in the links you provided, but if there is a key that completely drops the bottom panel - I am using Win 7 - then that may allow access to a dropped down PLay Panel.

Perhaps another way:
You wrote: "...if there is a key that completely drops the bottom panel..."
By bottom panel, do you mean the taskbar? The taskbar normally appears at the bottom of the Windows screen. (Among other things, it contains program icons and the date/clock.)
If that is what's hiding the top of MuseScore's Play Panel, you can right click an empty spot on the taskbar and, under 'Properties', you can set the taskbar to 'Auto-hide'; or you can set the 'Taskbar location' to 'Top', and then put it back after you recover the MuseScore play panel.
Regards.

Henk, Bingo! this is it and works. Yes, I mean taskbar and moving it away uncovers the Play Panel; this is the easiest solution.

Here you can find more information on windows management with shortcuts:

Not sure why the window did not move by using the arrow key on your case.

G
Ctrl+U or Click "View" on the Menu tab and choose "Full Screen" this will make where it is hiding visible.
