Trill playback workaround
I'm having trouble designing a workaround to the lack of direct playback in trills. It's simple enough to get the playback to work properly by writing out the notes of the trill and turn them invsible, but I can't quite add the trill notation. I'm using the symbols menu (Z), and I want the stem on my trill note to point down. There's a half note that points upward, and a half note head, but no stem anywhere that I can find. I don't understand why all the heads and flags would be available in the symbols list without a stem also being there. Is this perhaps an oversight?

The symbols menu is not intended for adding notes to the score, or trill markings. Use the instructions for note entry from the handbook instead. For the trill marking use the articulations palette .

Hi David, thanks for responding. My post has to do with looking for a workaround for the trills not being supported in playback when using the method you describe here.
