dynamics positions for percussion staff
Hi,
I'm sorry if this was clarified before. Everytime I add (via drag, or via double clicking the dynamic in the palette) a dynamic to notes in a percussion staff (enclosed a simple example), the vertical position is way low, even inside the staff below.
Is this a known behaviour or bug, or am I missing something? if I add more instruments (violin in the attached example), the same operation works ok for them (the ff marking is well positioned (below the note) in the violin staff). But the cymbal's ff and the bass drum p, are too low.
I dind't changed my preferences or page settings (it's a blank score to which I simply added the instruments)
Musescore 2.0.2, Windows 8 OS.

It's not a "bug", it's more of an unavoidable limitation in how default positions are determined currently. The default position for dynamics and most other text elements is specified (in Text / Styes) relative to the top staff line, and these values are chosen to make sense for a five line staff. For staves with fewer than five lines, it's going to be too low, and for staves with more than five lines, it will be too high. So you will need to override this default for such staves. After entering the dynamics, select them all (right click one, Select / All Similar Elements in Same Staff), then use the Inspector to adjust the vertical offset.
Eventually I'd like to see us add separate controls for distance above or distance above staff, and allow you to flip between them. Also, I'd love to see it be possible to override these distances on a per-staff basis.

ouch, many thanks Marc. Didn't understood until this point the usefulness of the Inspector.
