Workflow laggy and with delay/bugging

Hello everyone.
I am a composer using musescore as my professional music notation software.
My ram on the computer is 16GB; i am experiencing (for a long time), with writing for symphony orchestra, a laggy workflow, and doing certain actions like deleting entire sections of the score results in sofwtare crashes.
I am writing for a full orchestra with several percussions, i hope i haven't reached got to the computational limit of the program itself.
Is it a problem of the software? How can i make my workflow more fluent?
I don't think it is a problem of my computer, since it's performing very well in other situations.
