To add a text-based element to the score, use one of the following general methods:

Every text-based element in the score has three levels of formatting:
This is the top level of formatting and affects all text elements in the score of a particular class. All staff text, for example has a unique text style, as do tempo markings, lyrics, chord symbols and so on. MuseScore comes with many predefined text styles, which can be customized, but you are also free to create your own.
To edit the text style of a class of elements, use any of the following methods:
