Musescore hangs on startup
hello,
Windows XP pro. SP3
Musescore 0963 or 1.0
I was trying to help a friend setting up Musescore on his computer, and experienced that Musescore installs allright, but on starting the program, it hangs on the start-picture.
The computer is sold under a different name, but I have found out that it originally is a type called Compal FL91.
No problems with other programs.
I have myself installed Musescore on 4 of my own computers, and have never had any problems.
Can anybody help?

Can you check the configuration against the known incompatibilities ?
If you find nothing suspicious, you can try a debug version. See How to use a debug version of MuseScore to help.

I tried the debug version.
It also hangs after a few seconds, and the debug text only shows this:
..................................................................................
C:\mscore-debug>cd bin
C:\mscore-debug\bin>mscore.exe -d
global share:
configured localeName
real localeName
load translator
load translator from
..........................................................................
In the "locale" map I have no file called mscore_da_DK ( I have a mscore_da_qm)
The file qt_da_DK is there .
Don't know if that should mean anything, since the program runs OK on other computers ??
(I do not find any "known incompabilities" )

Could you try to run MuseScore from the command line with the
-s
flag ? If you don't know about the command line, check Revert to factory settings , just replace the-F
by-s

I have a Realtek High Definition driver.
Just download the most recent driver. The installation failed with error 0xE0000227. Searched the net, and it is obviously a known error.. and it seems that I am up for a lot of trouble...

well, tried several ways of re-installing Realtek High Definition.
And I have no problems playing MP3 or other music from the net...
But Musescore still cannot start, unless i use the "-s" appendix.
Any other sugegstions? otherwise I think we will have to omit using that specific computer..
