Keep crescendo lines and dynamics under lyrics?
I'm writing percussion and I use the lyric function for sticking. As a default it seems the automatic placement pushes the lyrics/stickings below any dynamic markings, which should be the other way around. Is there a way to set the default offset values or placement values of the elements in a score?

Try using the actual sticking feature (in the Add / Text menu) :-)

Good to know for future reference, but if you already have a score(s) full of stickings done with the lyrics tool you can add your crescendos, open the inspector, and unchecked "automatic placement". You'll then be able to drag it anywhere you'd like.

You can also disable autoplace for a selected element by pressing "=", and you cn even do it for all lyrics selected at once (eg, right-click one, Select / All Similar Elements). Although that might go to far. If you ask for help in the Support forum and attach a specific score, we can advise better.

Ah, that "=" shortcut is great to know. Thanks.

My solution has been to finalize all the dynamics and stickings with the weird placement and then at the very end, manually adjusting them all at once by using select all of type and then inspector to set the x and y offsets

That sounds like the easiest way to do this.

To be clear though, that's only necessary for older scores that use lyrics where stickings are actually intended. Current scores should simply use the sticking feature, and then the layout is correct by default.
It's conceivable someone could write a plugin to convert lyrics to sticking automatically.
