Classical guitar - playing the same note (pitch) on two different strings at the same time. For example, playing E on the first and second strings on the fifth fret. How does one get both notes to show in the notation in the same voice?
Comments
By putting the note twice in the chord.
Using keyboard entry (for example):
N E Shift+E Ctrl+↓

Thanks for your reply and caring to help. I must not be doing it correctly. I got two Es an octave apart. I need the notes on the same line in the staff.
I was able to work around it by using another voice. That means I had a lot of extra rests cluttering the measure, but I marked them "not visible." The insert shows the final result.

You missed the ctrl+down arrow at the end of the instructions.

I suspect you left out the Ctrl+Down to move the note down an octave after initially entering it in the upper octave.

Use voices 1 and 2 as appropriate (see image below), and it will work as expected.
