Thanks for the link, but I don't think that's what I need. The linked handbook passage states any changes to Staff Spacing apply to all elements. I was looking for a way to enlarge only the note heads so that the melody line, which is to be sung, can be distinguished from the piano accompaniment. I found a way to shrink notes, but not enlarge them. I fear that notes sufficiently small to be easily distinguished from the melody will be too small to be easily seen and played.

Selects all notes of the melody;
Inspector, chords->set to small;
Style/Dimensions->small notes= 120;
Select all stems, Inspector->lenght change
But it's probably easier to select the Piano stave and make the notes small, then adjust them.

While the trick above does work, I strongly advise against it. Noteheads already take up the full staff space. Making them larger than that makes them significantly harder to read, because now it isn't clear is the note is on a line or space. Much better to make the other notes small, or simply notate on separate staves, depending on the context.
