Tab staff beaming with beginning rest bug??
In a Tablature staff with Stem style set to "Beside staff" and Stem position set to "Below", when a beam group starts with a rest the beam is drawn above the staff and the stems are drawn below the staff (and the stems are very long). See attached picture and score.

For some reason, it works by exchanging voice1-3 (menu Tools -> Voices -> Exchange voices etc.)

EDIT: I don't know what your intention was (?), but you should avoid adding four staves to a single guitar. Anyway, it's not common. For example, for a quartet, create four separate instruments (even though it will not change what you found in the first instance)

The four staves was just to show the different behaviour of the beaming amongst the different settings of the relevant parameters, and I added the staff text to indicate the settings for each staff. It issue also happened with a new score of just one tablature staff.
I've also noticed that when I delete the first quaver from one of the tab staves the beaming problem disappears; but it reappears if I set the resulting rest to start the beaming group.

Yes, of course.
I could be wrong, but as far as I remember, this kind of display is not common in TAB staff, especially since you really need a precise set of necessary conditions (stem beside staff / position below, in a Common staff type). And as you have seen, the workaround (swapping voices 1/3) is really easy.

Thanks for the work-around. I'll try it.
I quite like how MS allows you to have the stems and bars beside the staff lines; it seems that my younger students find this form of display easier to read. The choice of above or below the staff usually depends on the individual score.
