Chords symbols, bug?
Hi, Gang!!!
I use MuseScore 3.6.2 Portable AppImage, inside computers with Ubuntu-Studio 20.04.2 LTS (64 bit Linux).
I don't know if this is a "bug", or I missed something.
Please, take a look to the score I'm uploading here.
Please, note about the last chord. It is a D7+ (Re major with major 7th) = D - F# - A - C#.
Of course, the sound of the involved notes and the chord graphics are fine. But...
If you click on the name of the chord...
I don't know if in your systems is the same but, here, I can cleary hear a simple D7 (Re major with minor 7th) = D - F# - A - C
Is it the same with your systems? Or... Did I do something wrong? ???

It could be things are different in Chile, but in most of the world, "+" in a chord symbol means "augmented" - a raised fifth. So, in this chord, it changes the A into A#. If you want a major seventh, the symbol is Dma7, or any similar abbreviation (DMaj7, D^7, etc - where the 6 turned into a triangle.

All my life I have seen the 7+ as a major 7th, here. It is obvious different in other countries.

Do you have some published examples of this style you can share? We’re in the process of updating the chord symbol facility for MuseScore 4, and if “+” is used in that way by publishers somewhere, we can consider supporting it.

I'm so sorry, Marc!!!
It is my mistake, my fault.
The thing is, when we write that chords with Spanish syllabic names (DO, RE, MI, etc), we used the "+" to the 7th. The "maj" syllable is not used in this system. To the 2 major 3th chords, we use "Aum". To the 2 minor 3th chords, we use "Dism".
But, it is about the Spanish syllable names system. I forgot MuseScore uses the "American Coding" style, so... It is not the same.

It would still be interesting to see some published examples in this style. We support French and German styles, we could consider adding a Spanish style, not just for the note notes but also the abbreviations used. But we'd need to see something reasonably authoritative to say what those abbreviations and symbols should be.
